First High Tea Barbecue Buffet
If you are unsure of how to unwind on a lazy Saturday afternoon, come to the Café Brio’s at Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel and indulge in the café’s high-tea barbecue buffet while basking in the relaxing ambience. You’ll also get to marvel at the breathtaking view of the historic Singapore River while tucking into the hearty assortment of barbecue delights such as satay, chicken wing, fried dough fritter, sweet corn, Taiwanese sausage and tau pok with bean sprouts prepared à la minute on the open charcoal-fired grill.

This is the first time that the café is introducing the high tea barbecue buffet and it is probably the first high tea barbecue in Singapore. Barbecues are usually introduced in the evening therefore it was a refreshing change for me to enjoy tantalising barbecued food in the afternoon. In addition to the barbecued items, you can also tempt your palate with a smorgasbord of signature Asian and Western high tea offerings.
A delightful selection of cold appetisers
Start your gastronomic experience with the mouth-watering array of cold and hot appetisers, mini sandwiches, croissants and delectable dim sum such as pork dumpling (siew mai) and prawn dumpling (ha kao). Savour ambrosial local fare including braised pork belly with steamed Chinese bun, mini pork spare rib marinated with prestige coffee flour and curry chicken with potato.
The laksa station
My favourite dish is the signature Nyonya laksa prepared à la minute at the live stations. The laksa is served piping hot in an aromatic and rich coconut gravy with generous servings of prawn, fish cake and beancurd puff (tau pok) and bean sprouts. Satisfying to the very last mouthful!
Assorted sushiThe Japanese corner is also something that you must not miss. The assorted sushi, maki and freshly made Californian handrolls resonate with freshness of ingredients, making one crave for more.
Other popular items on the extensive buffet line include braised pork belly with steamed Chinese bun, mini pork spare rib marinated with prestige coffee flavour and curry chicken, not forgetting the delicious wok-fried carrot cake.

The splendid dessert section is also a feast for the senses. Pamper your sweet tooth with delectable Nyonya kueh, chocolate fondue with strawberries and marshmallows, cupcake tower, mixed berry tart, oreo cheesecake, chocolate swiss roll, chilled durian pudding and fresh fruits.

The high tea barbecue buffet is a must-try if you are looking for a place which provides a juxtaposition of flavours and textures. The buffet is available on Saturdays, from 2pm to 5pm and is priced at $38++ for adults and $19++ for children. Items are available on a rotational basis.
