Relish Hearty South Italian Cuisine at Pepenero

The interior

Pepenero, a quaint restaurant at Stanley Street is bought over by Chef-Owner Gabriele Piegaia who also owns Burlamacco. Chef Gabriele who is a renowned face in the F&B industry has honed his skills at several Michelin starred restaurants in Italy including Ristorante Antica Zecca and Ristorante Antica Osteria del Bai before coming to Singapore.  Pepenero's menu which is refreshed recently focuses on hearty Southern Italian cuisine. The cuisine is understated yet undeniably delicious.

Every dish is carefully executed, capturing the soul of rustic Italian cuisine. The ambience is cosy, rendering the restaurant an ideal venue for convivial gatherings with friends and family.

Sipping a glass of Prosecco before dinner

Start your meal with the granchio (crab meat cake served with avocado in garlic aioli-$28) or the baked pork meat ball cooked in spicy tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese.

Granchio (crab meat cake served with avocado in garlic aioli)

The crab meat cake  is delightful and crispy and is enhanced with creamy sliced avocado in a rich and creamy garlic aioli mayonnaise sauce.

Baked pork meat balls cooked in spicy tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese

The pork meat balls ($26) are flavourful, embellished with the slightly spicy, tangy tomato sauce topped with mozzarella cheese.

Classic linguine pasta with Boston lobster in fresh tomato and majoram

For the mains, the classic linguine pasta with Boston lobster in fresh tomato sauce and majoram ($32) is a winning dish. The al dente linguine is steeped in a robust tomato sauce deftly prepared with Boston lobsters. The sauce oozes the sweetness of the lobsters and every mouthful is simply bursting with wholesome goodness.

Manzo (grilled beef ribeye served with roasted potato and mixed salad in black pepper sauce)

The Manzo (grilled beef ribeye served with roasted potato and mixed salad in black pepper sauce - $40) is tender but is not a very memorable dish.

Tiramisu

Seal the dining experience on a sweet note with the signature tiramisu ($14) or the semifreddo ($14).

Semifreddo

Light, luscious and fluffy with hints of espresso coffee, the quintessential tiramisu hits all the right notes while the traditional semifreddo adds an elegant, finishing touch to an awesome meal.
